Gold Award from Panasonic Corporation for the ECO-VC (Value Creation) Initiative

On November 2nd, Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Headquarters: Ohte-machi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) received the gold award for the ECO-VC (Value Creation) Initiative from Panasonic Corporation (Headquarters: Kadoma City, Osaka, hereinafter referred to as Panasonic) at the 4th Panasonic Excellent Partners Meeting.

[What is ECO-VC Initiative?]
ECO-VC Initiative is a greening project driven by close cooperation between Panasonic and its suppliers to promote reduction in production cost, CO2 emissions and resource material, as well as to improve product competitiveness. Suppliers with significant achievements in this regard are selected and awarded by Panasonic every year. The gold award is given to companies that receive the highest evaluation. This year only 5 out of the 901 applicant companies received the gold award, and we are honored to be among them.

[Awarded project]
What helped us to gain the gold award was our MS Series power supply IC (integrated circuit) with new features, which we developed under the theme of “power circuit with the world’s lowest standby power requirement”. It was highly appreciated for its feature to reduce electricity consumption in standby mode by blu-ray disc recorder, as well as for its versatility that makes it suitable for various electric home appliances.

MS Series is one of the world’s most energy-saving* power supply IC that needs only 1/5th electricity in standby mode compared to our previous model (MR Series). We are now expanding its range to make it one of our leading products.

We will continue our efforts for contributing towards environmental conservation through research and development of more green products.
