Notification concerning development and marketing of EVCST-IC conventional recharging stand for EV/PHV.

This is to inform you that Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (main office located in Otemachi, Chiyoda ward) has developed its EVCST-IC conventional recharging stand for electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHVs) and will begin marketing the product in July 2012.

1.Features

 Equipped with the following enhanced protection functions
  ・ Automatically stops recharging when excessive current
   (20A or more) or current leakage (15 mA or more) is detected.
  ・ Countermeasures against lightning damage (IEC61000-4-5 LEVEL:3)
  ・ Conforms to SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) J1772.
  ・Enables maximum output current value to be set in 1A units by
   CPLT (communications function).
   *Designed for Mode3 vehicle
  ・ Equipped with recharging connector automatic lock function


Water and dust resistant. Enable to be used outdoors.


Lightweight type weighs less than 38 kg.


Maintenance can be performed from the front to conserve space.


Equipped with communications function.
 ・Enables you to know operation status.
 ・Recharging history management function.
  Enables you to connect a PC and download CSV files.

2.General Description

The mission of Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is to "Maximizing energy conversion effiency for the benefit of humanity and society."
Enhanced social awareness of the environment has led to introduction of EVs that are friendly to the environment and has contributed to the increased availability of infrastructure such as EV recharging equipment.
The company has therefore developed the EVCST-IC conventional recharging stand for EVs and PHVs and will soon begin marketing the product. EVCST-IC can be used for domestic EVs and PHVs. In addition to excessive current and current leakage detection, the devices are equipped with functions such as IC card authentication, communications function, lightning damage prevention, and dust/water resistance.
