3rd-Generation Schottky Barrier Diodes

Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan),
following the long-standing S series (1st generation) and the J series (2nd generation), has developed and begun sales of the 3rd generation of Schottky barrier diodes※1, pursuing even lower VF and IR.

1.Overview

 Among our Schottky barrier diodes, the S series (1st generation) is a set of products which emphasizes balance between VF and IR. It is used in a wide range of applications, including switching power secondary side rectification and mobile device battery reverse current prevention. The J series (2nd generation) focuses on low IR. Since it lowers the risk of thermal runaway compared to the S series, it is used for compact power in harsh temperature environments, for example.
 The 3rd-generation Schottky barrier diodes we have now developed optimize the structure of the chips installed in the long-standing S series (1st generation) and the J series (2nd generation). Thus, they improve the tradeoff between VF and IR by as much as 6% as well as lower Cj by as much as 30%. This allows high expectations for diode loss reduction and noise improvement.
We shall continue to contribute to the protection of the global environment by developing high-efficiency power devices with excellent environmental performance that satisfy customer needs.
