600 V FRD "K Series" for Current Threshold Mode PFC

Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan),
has developed and begun mass-producing in March 2009 the "K series" of 600 V fast recovery diodes (hereafter FRDs), ideal for current threshold mode PFC.

1.Overview

 We have developed a new series of FRDs ideal for current threshold mode PFC, the "K series".  Through tests pursuing optimal values for trr (reverse recovery time) and VF(forward voltage), we have reduced case warming values by as much as 5 deg. Thus, we have improved efficiency compared to other companies' similar products and achieved environmental performance at the industry's top class. We have also achieved high reliability, guaranteed at high IFSM, as well as running ahead of the industry by putting into effect a tp = 1 ms guarantee, and otherwise have made a series that offers environmental performance along with safety and ease.

We shall continue to develop power device products responsive to customers' needs and to contribute to the protection of the global environment through high-efficiency devices.
